Carlisle joined Burnley in a £200,000 move from Championship rivils Watford during the 2007 summer. The centre back was brought in following former Clarets defender Wayne Thomas’ departure. The 27 year-old agreed a three year deal with the Clarets after making just 38 appearances for the Hornets.
